Evidence-based wellness strategies for parents
Mental health support and stress management tools
Guidance for building healthy family routines
Encouragement for self-care without guilt
Your mental wellness is the foundation of your family’s well-being.
Evidence-based perinatal mental health care uses research-backed strategies to support emotional wellness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It integrates proven therapeutic approaches, clinical best practices, and up-to-date scientific findings to help parents recognize symptoms early, build effective coping skills, strengthen support systems, and improve outcomes for both parent and baby.
Supportive coping strategies for perinatal mental wellness include prioritizing rest, practicing self-compassion, staying connected to trusted supports, using mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, and reaching out for professional care when emotional challenges begin to affect daily life, bonding, or overall well-being.
It’s important to know that support is available and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Guidance from trained professionals, combined with self-care strategies and community support, can help parents manage stress, anxiety, or depression and regain a sense of balance. With encouragement, understanding, and practical tools, parents can navigate these challenges, nurture their own well-being, and create a healthy, loving environment for their baby.

Alisha Bauman is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who is a passionate advocate for perinatal mental health and is on a mission to change the way we support families during one of life’s most transformative seasons.
While pursuing her master’s degree, Alisha welcomed her first child—and unexpectedly found herself battling severe postpartum depression. What was meant to be a brief pause in her education became a life-changing journey through the realities of maternal mental health. Through therapy, medication management, and unwavering support, she made a full recovery and has been in remission since her daughter was 18 months old.
Today, Alisha brings both clinical expertise and powerful lived experience to the stage. She speaks candidly about the challenges of the perinatal period, breaking down stigma and creates space for honest, necessary conversations about mental health.
Her work goes beyond mothers—Alisha is a strong voice for recognizing and supporting partners, who are often overlooked despite facing their own mental health struggles during this time. She is dedicated to shifting the narrative so that every parent feels seen, supported, and equipped.
Through her courses, practice, and advocacy, Alisha empowers families with practical tools, evidence-based insight, and hope. Her message is clear: you are not alone, support is available, and thriving—not just surviving—is possible in parenthood.
